“What you’ve done becomes the judge of what you’re going to do — especially in other people’s minds. When you’re travelling, you are what you are right there and then. People don’t have your past to hold against you. No yesterdays on the road.” -William Least Heat Moon
I've been travelling my whole life and at first, I didn't really like it because it's not a vacation-kind of travelling, it's my dad, moving around the countryside for his job. Why didn't I like moving around? First, it sucks cuz you need to start all over again with school, another friend, new territorial and other sucks thing for a little girl.
So when my dad had stopped moving, I was so happy to begin my adventure with my old friends. We moved back to our main house in Bekasi, I didn't have to start all over again, already had friends, old school and it's where I was born...so, I had no trouble~
Everyone knows teenage life is another level of suck(ness). I grew up wanting to travel but my parents said "NO....NO TRAVELLING BY YOURSELF!" I couldn't even go to the mall with friends. Well, I get it my parents were afraid that I'm going to hurt myself or get kidnapped. It's okay I'm glad they did not give any permission back then who knows what I would end up with ^^
And now I'm the luckiest girl on earth. Why'd you asked? Because my husband is a wanderer. He travelled a lot and when we got married, he planned a lot of trip for both of us. He even told me to travel alone when he's not around.
After I got married, I've been solo travelled to some places that I never had in mind. I went to Bangkok for Coldplay's concert all by myself, safe and sound, I went to Jogja almost once in a few months because my sister-in-law lives there. I went to Bali to meet my brother then I stayed for one night at a capsule hotel alll byyyy myyyyseeeeelllffff~

Did you know that I climbed the Merbabu mountain last year? I never thought that I had the ability to climb a mountain. I never thought someone would bring me there and showed me that life is more than just the road from your house to your workplace.

I dare myself to embrace every moment that I made. It's a very expensive freedom, indeed it cost me almost everything to make my way up here.

With travelling, you can finally see what kind of person you truly are. A sophisticated bitch who craved no trouble during your trip (Easy money, bad attitude), a free stuff hunter who likes to report every move on the social media, a luxury enthusiast who falls in love with the beauty of nature, a backpacker without money but have a lot of courage to just pack the bag and go, and so on...

We travelled to understand why'd we choose this way instead of that way? Why'd we eaten this stuff and that person eat another crap?
And after thousands of why...we're finally getting to the part of the scene that was actually requested since the beginning...Who am I?
So don't hold yourself because there's nothing to be worried about. Find yourself lost in a city with a thousand alley, maybe from there, you'll get the chance to meet your true self.
Love,
Allysa
